Finding a Place to Serve

Have you ever wondered why God doesn't just immediately take us to heaven the moment we accept his grace? Why does he leave us in a fallen world? He leaves us here to fulfill his purposes.

God has a ministry for you in his church and a mission for you in the world. Jesus said,

“Whoever wants to be great must become a servant”  Mark 10:43

He measures greatness in terms of service, not status. God determines your greatness by how many people you serve, not how many people serve you. The world defines greatness in terms of power, possessions, prestige, and position.  Jesus says that greatness is measured by how we value and serve others.  May we be people who follow his definition of greatness!

I’m always so encouraged when someone finds a place to serve where they feel needed and fulfilled!

I hear comments like:

“I found a place where I feel like I’m making a real difference.” "I'm really getting to know other people." “If you asked me a few years ago, I wouldn’t have seen myself doing this … but here I am!”  “Those of us serving together have become really good friends.” “God has used this to help me to look beyond my own concerns.”

If you don’t have a place to serve, I hope you’ll check out some of the opportunities available.
If you want to discuss local ministry opportunities further, please contact our Urban Outreach Director, Bethany Bell.
