We believe that The Great Commission, which calls us to go into the world and make disciples of all nations, is for every person! There are millions of people right in our backyard who have deep emotional, social, and spiritual needs and we believe that He's giving us the privilege to show them his love. Winter Homeless Care Kits

Obtain more information on how to make care kits for those who are homeless near you and to bring the desired items for donation, see us at the Cafe table November 25 and December 2. Make sure to come back December 6th, 5:30-8:00pm in Room 203 to take a kit home with you and use it as a template for making future bags.

Cleveland Short-term Mission Trip: Summer 2019

In Acts 1:8, Jesus says, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” If you’ve never had the chance to take a short-term trip that challenged you culturally, relationally and spiritually, we recommend that you start with our CLEVELAND MISSION TRIP here in our Judea/Samaria— Cleveland, Ohio! You will learn how to engage in urban culture and grow your worldview to include love and to appreciate that same culture.  Our next Cleveland Mission Trip is June 21-23, 2019.  This trip was formerly called Grace in the City.

Envision Cleveland

Envision is a ministry of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. EC seeks to connect people with a heart to serve in the city by matching them with local urban ministries and organizations. Their ministry areas include refugee and immigrant outreach, community development, church partnership, urban leadership training, English teaching, and youth and kids ministry.

Building Hope in the City

Building Hope in the City (BHITC) is a ministry in Cleveland that seeks to be seen as a vibrant part of the community of Jesus in the city, sharing the hope of Christ with all people. Building Hope has a long legacy as a Christ-led presence in Cleveland. Their ministries include Church Planting and Leadership Development, The Hope Center for Refugees and Immigrants, Urban Family Learning Centers, Open Table, Urban Ministry Training and Engagement and Hopeworks (entrepreneurial ventures).

The City Mission & Laura's Home 

The City Mission has been ministering to the city of Cleveland since 1910. Its reputation has remained faithful around the city and community. The City Mission is a holistic ministry that exists to serve men, women, and children at their point of crisis by progressing them towards stability, employment and independent housing” (The City Mission website). They function to give an option for those at risk to be self-sufficient and productive. Their programs include Laura’s Home Women’s Crisis Center, Pathways Family Outreach Services, New Horizons Housing Collaborative, Crossroads Men’s Crisis Center, and Inmate Outreach Services.

International Friendships, Inc.

International Friendships, Inc. is partners with universities and volunteers to promote friendship and hospitality for international students, scholars and their family members. The organization focuses on meeting social, cultural, spiritual, and practical needs of international students. IFI supports students at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University, Lorain County Community College and Baldwin-Wallace University, as well as other campuses nationwide.

True Freedom Ministries

True Freedom Ministries is a ministry dedicated to reaching those in prison (men, women, and juvenile), struggling with addictions, dealing with homelessness, and those in nursing homes. In 2014 alone, True Freedom Ministries touched the lives of over 42,000 people!

TFM has a need for worship leaders, small group facilitators, mentors, musicians, social workers, clerical assistants, and counselors. They can also provide volunteer training to interested churches and members. The best “on-ramp” opportunity is serving food in the homeless ministry.

You can expect to hear some incredible stories of Christ’s redeeming love in many lives, and may even be asked to share your story. TFM is unique because they minister to people of all ages, both male and female!

Cleveland Pregnancy Center

Cleveland Pregnancy Center has been offering crisis services to women and men in the Cleveland area for over 30 years. They provide hope and healing to women and their families through restoring hope, healing hearts and saving lives. Their services include the H.E.A.R.T.  program, pregnancy support, parenting support and education, baby material assistance, post-abortion and grief support, Frontline Fatherhood Program, community and educational resources, offering ultrasounds or a sonography. Though free of cost, these programs carry lasting effect and benefits for those using them.

Inner-City Tutoring

The Phillis Wheatley Association has had a presence in their neighborhood for over 105 years. Sponsored by the Phillis Wheatley Association in Cleveland, the Inner City Tutoring Program works in George Washington Carver Elementary School on East 55th Street. This inner-city school is under academic emergency and the children there need to be tutored in reading and math, in particular. The tutoring program provides an opportunity to minister to the heart of children and can be the door that Jesus uses to speak to them. In addition to math and reading skills, the tutoring program works on encouraging better school attendance and parent engagement, as well as behavior improvement.

Ohio Guidestone

Ohio Guidestone has been serving children and families from Cleveland since 1864. Originally founded as an Orphan Asylum during the Civil War, they now focus on serving children and youth that are in need of specialized therapeutic programs and skills to become self-sufficient. They always look for value-driven, passionate people who want to make a difference in the lives of children and families in Berea and its neighboring communities. Their areas of services include childcare, residential treatment, counseling, and support services.

Family Ministry Center

Located in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood, the Family Ministry Center exists to see God transform the lives of people there. They exist to be a place and a people of refuge so that God can be made famous! They partner with around 20 other organizations to accomplish sustainable community development. Their main areas of ministry include urban renewal, alternative education, church planting, the arts, international missions, transitional care for veterans, and many more!

Scranton Road Ministries

Scranton Road Ministries actively contributes to the spiritual, economic, and physical restoration of the Greater Cleveland Community, focusing mostly on the west side. They are located in Ohio’s most diverse neighborhood and focus on representing, equipping and investing in youth and families and promoting a community-wide revitalization by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their areas of ministry include job training, educational enrichment, legal education, computer training, and leadership development.
